SUP-porting the Mississippi
Alex Linnell began his awesome journey June 1, 2011 on Lake Itasca in Minnesota. Almost two months later he is still pursuing his goal of becoming the first person to SUP (Stand-Up Paddle) the entire length of the Mississippi River. The measured distance of the Mississippi is near 2,300 miles long and the current SUP record is held by Tom Jones, who traveled 1,507 miles. Alex has paired up with the American Red Cross to help local flood victims in cities along his journey.

Alex has made it through several areas near Glik’s locations and we think its cool he stopped by the St. Louis Arch to celebrate his half-way mark! Glik’s originated in the St. Louis area, and our headquarters is located about 20 minutes from downtown. We here at Glik’s are routing this innovative athlete on!
