On the Road Again
My favorite thing about summer just happens to be good “old-fashioned” road trips with my friends. Whether our journeys last one, two, or several days, the whole point of piling yourself into a car with a few of your favorite people is essentially to have a grand adventure, take lots of pictures, listen to great music, and capture memories that will last you a lifetime.
I was recently “abducted” by a group of my closest friends and hijacked to a remote region that was literally in the middle of NO WHERE, and it was absolutely amazing! I was only given a matter of 45 minutes to pack a “small” bag of clothing, compile an epic playlist appropriately titled: Epic Eminence Playlist, and make enough PB & J sandwiches to last everyone two days.
This was my first of many “mini” roadtrips planned and unplanned for this summer. Being that I am literally a fashion hoarder, if it is a 3 day trip, I generally pack enough for a 7 day. I was actually proud of being able to pack all that I needed neatly into a daypack. I reflected on this as I was making the 2+ hour drive to the “beyond” and wanted to provide you a list of road trip essentials.
The perfect pair of denim:
It’s going to be hot out, and besides a swimsuit you should definitely pack your favorite, most comfortable pair of cut off denim shorts. No matter where you go on your journey, whether it’s a festival, camping, float trip, or an outdoor day trip, your best bet is to wear your cut offs to ensure that they come back looking even more broken in and destructed!

The perfect top:
Remember that you want to pack lightly for your trip, so I suggest a simple loose fitting flowy top. I literally love all of the new summer fashions from BB Dakota and Jack by BB Dakota right now! This brand is hitting on all of this summer’s hottest trends: crochet, lace, sheer chiffons, tribal prints, and bright colors!

For the cool evenings:
Normally it cools down in the evenings after a long day in the sun, so I will generally pack some sort of lightweight sweater or hoodie to slip on after I’ve moisturized my sun-kissed skin (girl’s got to keep her tan). I love all of the loose, textured knits that I am seeing and nothing works better than a super soft, cozy poncho!
Foot for Thought:
Don’t forget to pack a versatile pair of flip-flops, but also remember that a good pair of boots can go a long way when you’re outdoors. All of the new styles of Denver and Rio Grande boots from Very Volatile this summer are perfectly fashionable for wearing both in and outdoors.

REMEMBER: to wear accessories that are interchangeable with your outfits, pack light, and to always maintain a decent amount of fashionable safety when on your road trip adventures! My best advice is to HAVE FUN. It’s SUMMER!
