Manufacturing’s Got Back

One of the (many, many) beautiful attributes of San Francisco is the community commitment to supporting local merchants. A fabulous organization that has truly impacted my personal journey as a small business owner is SFMade, the only non-profit dedicated to helping build San Francisco’s economic base by developing the local manufacturing sector.

SFMade assists local designers, manufacturers and creators. Their philosophy that the more we create locally, the more we benefit as a community (from jobs to commerce to creativity and beyond) is exactly how I feel. SFMade offers affordable business consulting and various networking opportunities, among endless other benefits. They often throw events with their eclectic group of local manufacturers, all of whom are working on totally different ventures – with a similar message.

Sunday, December 9th from 10am-6pm at Fort Mason SFMade is hosting a Holiday Gift Fair. With over 75 local vendors you are bound to find (more than one) thing you can’t live with out. This is a truly stellar group of local talent. Work local, support local, love local!

I am so grateful for SFMade’s dedication to local merchants.  I can’t sing praises for SFMade enough; they have been immensely valuable to CMD. I encourage all my fellow SF independent designers and creators to become part of this movement.
