Layer Up For SF Fall Festivals
Autumn in upon us, and I personally couldn’t be more excited to cozy up in my favorite layers: clothes, jewelry, and glasses of wine, among otherwise. As my fellow San Franciscans are aware, fall brings many treasures, not the least of which is our delightful Indian Summer.
As we wait with bated breath to see if each morning will bring a blistering sun or a blanket of fog, everyone in the Bay Area knows layers are the name of the game (pretty much anytime, but especially September-November). Our unpredictable weather may mean overheating in a chunky sweater during a random 90° weather, or chattering teeth during a particularly overcast afternoon. While this can be a bit cumbersome during the fall—our prime time for outdoor activities—it simply takes strategic planning to be comfortable from dawn ’til dusk.
Above are a few of my layering staples: amazing outwear (we’re big personal fans of the cape, especially this one by Burberry); Raybans that transition from day to eve; chic-yet-practical booties per Ted Baker; and lots and lots of layered CMD jewelry. Headed to some of the incredible NorCal music festivals in the next month (Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Treasure Island, Stern Grove Sundays, just to name a few)? Our expert recommendation is to bring on the layers. Too hot? Shed the cape. Cloudy with a glare? Add the sunnies. Anywhere on the spectrum? Pour on the CMD. Draped bracelets and stacked rings are guaranteed to shine no matter what the forecast.
