Independent and Grateful

Long before I knew I would become a jewelry designer, I took one of my first trips to Mexico at age 18. I’ve chatted about my travels in the past, and with every country I have visited I’ve learned more about myself. My trip to Mexico in particular was a defining moment, as I remember feeling so independent and alive. During my time there I indulged myself and bought a cast sterling silver ring with a gorgeous stamping of a Mayan sundial (which cost about $50 and seemed like a million to me at the time). To this day that ring is still so precious to me, and always evokes the feeling of my own independence. I feel so proud and fortunate to live in a society where entrepreneurship and independence is celebrated and encouraged.  (I will be sure to post a photo of my beloved ring on Instagram later today.)
